Maybe your child is asking for help to keep pace with classroom teaching. Perhaps you want reassurance that your child is prepared for assessments, or to ensure they maximise their potential. Or maybe your child wishes to regain their confidence and enjoyment of maths.
Whatever's brought you here, Thrive Maths meets your child exactly where they are. We’re here to help young people master maths, and flourish both academically and emotionally.
Leah believes every child can have a better relationship with maths, whatever their starting point. A qualified teacher since 2002, she still teaches weekly in a Harpenden secondary school, and she's a parent who's been through the exam years herself. So she knows what your child is facing in the classroom, and what you're feeling at home.
Leah combines emotional intelligence with practical common sense. Students are held to high standards and genuinely championed at the same time, because for Leah those are the same act. A grade 4 earned against the odds is celebrated just as loudly as a grade 9, and mistakes aren't something to be embarrassed about; they're where the best learning hides.

We pre-teach the method and key vocabulary for each new topic before it's taught in school, ensuring students walk into lessons feeling equipped and confident.
We work exclusively with either students from St George's School, Harpenden, or local independent schools. Every session is delivered over Zoom or Teams, in small paired sessions or individually depending on the year group and qualification.

“We cannot thank you enough for the amazing tutoring you provided C. The grade she gets is much less important than the imagination you sparked in her. Your enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to your pupils is outstanding and how you have built such a strong relationship with C.”
