Both students are in the same set, so the lesson is pitched at exactly the same level for each of them. That means your child isn't sitting through material that's too easy or too hard for someone else in the room. It also means they're not carrying the stress of a Check Point on their own – a problem shared genuinely is a problem halved, and most students find it easier to be honest about what they don't understand when someone else in the room doesn't understand it either.
Students consistently say it's more fun this way, and most actually prefer sharing the spotlight in a 1-2-2 session over a 1-2-1, without it costing them any focus. Many families find their child's tutoring partner becomes something closer to a revision buddy, building a lovely supportive friendship throughout the course of their time with Thrive Maths.
Run during Easter and May half term, ahead of exam season.
Ad hoc 1-2-1 sessions, as needed over the summer.
Paired sessions running between Results Day and early September. For students moving from GCSE into A Level Maths, and those sitting an A level Maths entrance exam early September.

We’ll have a conversation about where your child is right now and what they need.
Main intake is mid June and spaces are limited, so there may be a short waiting list depending on when you enquire.
Your child is matched into the right pairing, and the pre-teaching cycle starts ahead of their next topic at school.
Students are paired with someone in the same set, so the lesson is pitched at the right level for both. Leah takes personal, first-hand knowledge of each student into account when matching pairs.
Thrive Maths has run at capacity with a waiting list for several years. Booking an intro call is the best way to find out where things stand and get an honest answer on timing and intake.
Yes, all sessions are run online over Zoom or Teams. Leah has found this allows just as much personal attention as sitting across a table, since she can read a student's expression and adjust her approach in real time.
Not for Year 9-11 St George's students during the week, paired sessions are core to how the method works. 1-2-1 is available for IGCSE students on Sundays, and for anyone during the summer holidays.
“We cannot thank you enough for the amazing tutoring you provided C. The grade she gets is much less important than the imagination you sparked in her. Your enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to your pupils is outstanding and how you have built such a strong relationship with C.”
